Like Steve Cohen I was desperately hoping that 5-year transition period was some kind of joke but it turns out the joke’s on us. Cohen would been the wealthiest owner in the entire game and they screwed that up. How will the Wilpons top that?
Thanks all for the updates on the “bulldog edition” 2020 spring training roster. Here’s a new one with your corrections, additions and changes. Kinda cool that they remember Jeremy Hefner’s previous identity. Max Moroff, a longshot infield non-roster invitee, appears not to have been assigned a number yet, but could slot in at 7 or 33. Just as likely, Tim Tebow will appear in 15 and Moroff can have his assigned 85. (Update: Moroff is in uniform at 33)
By the way our partner site that hosts our number database was down briefly for repairs. We have a few tweaks to make still on the coach personnel which is why I keep forgetting the Mickey Callaway switch. We’ll be up to date soon!

Couple quick fixes:
12 is Eduardo Nunez (not Edwin)
47 is Chasen Shreve (who could forget signing him? haha)
Thanks fixed that
Some pictures of the locker room show an #86 jersey. I can’t make out the name, but it does not look like Moroff.
And Tebow is still in #85.
Jake Hager is #86 (he’s in the original list).
Moroff is extremely likely to be #33. Up until a few days ago, he was listed by his old number (26) on CBS Sports, but it was recently updated to #33 (https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/playerpage/2171093/max-moroff)
It would be better if it was mets.com saying this, but CBS has been very good with accurately updating uni numbers over the years.
Moroff is now listed as #33 on Mets.com.
Sort of a minor footnote, but it appears Ender Chavez has been officially added as part of the staff for big league camp. It looked like there was a Spanish-language article that detailed his role, but I didn’t bother translating it. It seemed like a random mish-mash of things. Note, I don’t think he’s officially on the major league staff, it’s just for spring training. He’s wearing #90 according to the Photo Day pictures.
In prior years, when the Mets brought in players from minor league camp, they wore unnamed shirts in the 80-90 number range. Now they wear their own uniforms with their own names and numbers, So we have duplicate numbers as in college football. On today’s broadcast I saw some dude wearing number 20, and thought “you’re not Pete Alonso!” Sure enough, he wasn’t.
Mets have 63 players in major league camp. You would think that would be enough, but I guess not.
