Congratulations to Johan Santana and his Mets teammates especially the heroic Mike Baxter for spectacularly ending the Mets’ random but remarkable 8,020-game no-hitter drought. I have to say I was more stunned than elated as it came to pass but glad a deserving Met earned it. And any time you humiliate the Cardinals is a bonus. Let’s Go Mets! This is becoming a pretty good year.

So I guess that’s the end of nonohitters.com!

Nonohitters.com crashed last night, probably because of the traffic going to the server. I can’t believe I missed this… For a die hard it is like winning mega millions but leaving the ticket in your pants as it goes through the laundry… stupid job

In typical Mets fashion, Elvin Ramirez injured his hammy in the No-Hitter celebration and is heading to the DL without ever having tossed a pitch in the majors.
I do hope MLB sees fit to put the game on DVD for those of us die-hards who don’t live in the tri-state area.

Watching today’s game with the Mets now having pitched a no-hitter, I have a surreal sense of not knowing what to do with myself. I wonder if Red Sox fans felt anything like this after their team won the 2004 World Series, or White Sox fans after their team won in 2005.

Turns out it was Ramon, not Elvin. To quote the late, great Emily Lattella…”never mind”.

And Baxter for his heroics has landed on the DL, with the Mets calling up Josh Satin, sporting a 3 on his back.

Mets took SS Gavin Cecchini out of Alfred M. Barbe HS in Lake Charles LA, wore 2 for Barbe.
