Jeremy Reed

Once a top outfield prospect in the White Sox system, Reed came to the Mets from the Mariners along with JJ Putz and Sean Green in exchange for Aaron Heilman, Endy Chavez and a cast of thousands. Remarkably, Reed spent the entire season with the 2009 Mets -- a team desperate for versatile bench help -- yet accomplished almost nothing. His usefulness peaked early in the year when, as Carlos Delgado's first replacement at first base, committed a disastrous game-losing throwing error and was barely heard from again.
