# 17

I don't think it should be retired , but please stop giving it out to Wilson Delgado, David Newhan and the like.

Numerology

They definitely should retire 17 for Keith and 5 for Davey Johnson (based on the standard set by retiring 14 for Hodges - Johnson won more games, more division crowns, and as many World Series)...

They maybe should retire 1 for Mookie, 8 for Gary Carter and 31 for both Franco and Piazza...I'm not as convinced of these as I am about 17 and 5...I'd love to see/read/hear others' thoughts either way...

#17

I don't think #17 should be retired, but I think #1 definately should be.

If I may, I would like to

If I may, I would like to suggest that the Mets retire #36 for Jerry Koosman. Overshadowed by Tom Seaver, Koosman was nonetheless the Mets best left-handed starter and arguably, the Mets best post-season pitcher.

Well........

Number 31 should definitely be retired and we all know who that is!! The Greatest Hitting Catcher of all Time! I think all of us Mets Fans can agree on that one! We Miss U MIKE!

Well

They should Definately Retire Number 31 and we all know who that is! The Greatest Hitting Cather of all Time!!!I think all of us Mets Fans can agree on that one! We Miss you Mike!!

Not Now

We should retire the number, but not now. Lets wait till he's done announcing.

We'd miss half the game if the 17 Hernandez jerseys were available for sale, since he needs to talk about it every time he sees one.

#17

No Mets number should be retired until Jerry Koosmans #36 goes up on the wall! I understand the calling of #17 for Keith, he was the first piece in the new ownerships' plan to bring the Mets out of the dark ages, but, I feel there will be time for him later! The Kooz should be immortalized and remembered for being the good soldier and teammate that he was! Is there a bigger "BIG GAME" pitcher in Mets history? Not really!
